coolnesss
On my 98 ETC, with 61,000 miles, the dealer replaced the left front strut, under warranty, because it was leaking. I have heard that you always replace front suspension parts in pairs. Is this safe?
Dan
It's safe, but it's not very smart. You car will handle funny because 1 strut will be stiffer than the others. Some things have to be replaced in pairs, like brake pads. You can't even buy a single brake pad, they come in pairs. If you got a set of passive struts, they would also come in pairs. Besides if one side started leaking, it won't be long until the other side starts leaking too.
67coupedeville
Get them to replace both. I tried doing the cheap way on my 91 Fleetwood and woooooo, what a bone head mistake. Under hard braking, the right side of the car would sink farther than the left side . Do both, it will be much better . Spence
