  1. The fuel filter should be attached to the fuel line near the gas tank. Although it is possible to change the fuel filter with a screw driver, a quick disconnect tool makes it easier. You can pick one up at pretty much any parts store. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0195XBPPQ/ https://www.harborfreight.com/3-piece-quick-disconnect-tool-set-38732.html
  2. I am trying to remove the front door hinge. There is a round fastener between the two 15 mm bolts. What is it and how do I remove it?
  3. I adjusted the TPS using a multimeter and that seems to have fixed it for now.
  4. My 4.9 Seville idles high on start up, around 2,000rpm. It stays that way for about 3-4 min before settling down to around 800-1,000 rpm. Once the car is warmed up, I can shut it off and restart it and the car idles normally. I replaced the ISC with a spare one and did the idle learn procedure, and it does not seem to make any difference. I am showing codes E030 and E055. Some possible things I am thinking about checking is the timing and TPS. The problem is I don't know how to check if the TPS is OK or not. Is there anything else I am missing?
  5. Sometimes acid bubbling or leaking out of the top of the battery is a sign of the alternator overcharging. That may have been what caused the alternator to burn.
  6. Does anybody know of a good place to get a cluster rebuild? I have a cluster that intermittently stops working. The lights on the display goes off, the speedometer and tachometer stops working and the climate control defaults to 75 degrees. The lights in the radio display also stop working, but the radio still works. Fuel gauge sometimes gives inaccurate readings, although that may be a separate problem. Some of the lights behind buttons are burned out.
  7. Does anybody know how to replace the door hinge detent roller and the pin holding it in on 90s Sevilles and Devilles?
  8. Not sure how well it will sell. Most people are interested in SUVs/CUVs now. Sedans don't seem to be selling.
  9. Was the battery changed recently? Sometimes those symptoms can be caused by the computer losing the idle learn because the battery was disconnected. Cleaning the throttle body usually fixes the problem. Or it could be that the throttle body is so dirty that the computer can no longer compensate for it.
  10. Putting the terminals together resets the computer in the car, similar to rebooting your computer at home. I would be surprised if it worked for your problem. Does the manual lock work? I attached a video to give you an idea of what is involved. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SkBGLhv8UYM
  11. Is this it? http://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=1798502&cc=1025345&jsn=420
  12. Is it a problem with the power door locks not working, or does the door not open regardless of being locked or unlocked? If it is a problem with the power door lock actuator, then you will have to see if it is getting power with a test light or multimeter. If it is getting power then the actuator will have to be replaced. If the door does not open regardless of being locked or unlocked, then there is a problem with the linkage inside the door. You will have to remove the interior door trim/card and see what is going on back there.
  13. I have a 92 seville I replaced the front engine mount in. The square shaped one at the bottom of the engine behind the radiator. It is angled in one direction. What direction does the mount go? Should it be angled toward the engine, or should it be angled toward the radiator?
