AUSTINCTS1
Just called the dealer to inquire into trading my 2007 CTS, V-6, 20,000 miles, for a loaner 2008 CTS. Still owe 22,000 on the 2007. What can I expect? Thanks in advance.
Bruce Nunnally
Check kbb.com which is the kelly blue book site. Then expect the Dealer will offer you less than shown as an opening position. Remember it is a negotiation. AUSTINCTS1
They offered $17k for my 2007 CTS (20k miles), told them I needed 22K to consider deal. What do you guys think? Thanks.
Bruce Nunnally
My advice is to continue to drive your 2007 CTS for 80K more miles. Pay it off, and then begin to save for the next one. For example my 2005 CTS has 50K miles, and I plan to drive it for another 40-50K miles. At that point I will hopefully be ready to write a check for the replacement, which will be a lightly used Cadillac 1-2 years old with 10-20K miles. That said, if you are going to trade in your CTS I agree you would want to at least not be 'in the hole' on the trade-in. I suspect they would go up to $20K, and perhaps will meet your offer if you are patient enough with them. Meanwhile you should start offering your CTS for private sale here and other places online and in the local paper.
