Stormtrooper1
I've recently come across an 89 Deville I *may* be able to purchase very cheaply (like $500) The down fall is- No keys and the status of the engine is unknown... To Decide if i want to take the risk I have some wuick questions- 1> Can I get keys from Cadillac With the DMV paper work? 2> Its the 4.5 is this a good motor? 3> What could i see it for if it didnt run? 4> What woul a used enginge cost and what other years would interchange? Thanks everyone! Mike 1999 Pontiac Grand Prix GT 1976 Cadillac Coupe Deville
KHE
Why are there no keys????? As long as you can prove ownership, obtaining a duplicate set of keys should not be a problem. The 4.5 TBI engine was used in the 88 and 89 FWD Cadillacs. It was a good engine. The '88 Sedan/Coupe deVille was rated the most reliable car after 10 years on the road by JD Powers. Stormtrooper1
Thanks for the reply- Heres the full story, It didnt have keys because it was from a local impound lot, and it was unclaimed. I came across it on ebay. thats also why the engine condition was unknown. I was going to get it for running to/from work but it went higher than i wanted to pay for this with out even knowing If it would move. Thanks again (gotta still keep my eyes open for a work daily!)
