coolant boiling over

Why do you ask this question?, the coolant sensor sends the coolant temp to the PCM inducing the PCM to take certain actions, like turn on the fan, go into closed loop, etc

Do you have a diagram of where the small line that connects to the neck of the radiator surge tank goes and where the "hollow bolt" is?

MARK. Go back to your thread, see POST #21, I said to check the PURGE LINE. If you have AIR in your system you WILL overheat as can be seen in this thread. I sent you here to see INFO on P1660, not to RECREATE and RESTART stuff you should have DONE ALREADY. Dont mess up this thread, go back to yours and post a question.

When we post recommendations, FOLLOW THEM, dont ignore them, if you have a question ASK IT, but DO NOT just ignore advice or recommendations.
