BodybyFisher
i just bought my 93 sls a few weeks ago and i was wondering if there is a website i can use to see if there were any recall on that car snd to check if they were taken care of since i dont know the history of the car That would be the NHTSA site for recalls and lots of other fun stuff http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/recalls/recallsearch.cfm Here is their main site http://www.nhtsa.dot.gov/ You can get crash testing, complaints, rollover statistics and testing.. I found this because my cousin was having a problem with a 06 Jeep Commander stalling intermittantly. To my surprise so were hundreds of other people and it was a widely known problem, which I found out by searching for stalling on the JEEP FORUM...and confirmed the problem by seaching stalling complaints on the NHTSA site. It helped when he went to the dealer armed with the NHTSA and JEEP forum info. The dealer kept his car for about 2 months till they fixed it.. They ultimately replaced the ignition switch and it stopped stalling... Even though it was not my car, I went back to the JEEP forum to tell them that the switch replacement appeared to stop the stalling, so that maybe others would benefit..
