Bruce Nunnally
quoted from http://www.just-auto.com/news_detail.asp?art=44038 who were quoting from reuters: General Motors will recall the Cadillac SRX sport utility vehicle due to a problem with the braking system, and the Buick Rendezvous SUV to fix a faulty latch on the liftgate, according to Reuters. Spokesman Jim Schell told the news agency GM will recall 12,329 Cadillac SRXs equipped with all-wheel drive, including 11,375 in the United States, following two reports of a one-second delay in the anti-lock brakes activating to stop the vehicle. The report added that the problem, due to a software anomaly, only occurs during the first few seconds of driving when the SUV is moving slowly. One owner crashed his SRX into his garage wall following the brake delay, but was uninjured, Reuters said. Schell reportedly said affected owners will be notified within the next few months and told to bring their vehicles to a Cadillac dealership where the software system will be reprogrammed at no charge.
