franey
I have looked every where for BARS GOLD, I CAN find regular BARS , in the liquid bottle both the 8 and 16 ounce , which states on the side AS USED IN NEW CARS, OR something to like that. BUT no where on the bottle does it say GOLD. I HAVE tried all of the national chains as well as the local stores and they all have the same product. Does anyone know what the difference may be. in addition is it 2 eight ounce bottles or 2 16 ounce bottles , in place of the tablets. AS ALWAYS YOUR HELP IS GREATLY APPRECIATED. bigboy6998
I saw some new stuff at ABC. It was 2 types of BARSLEAK in the liquid form but one when poured it looked like gel with silver specs in it, no pellets. There was another one there that was the same price but like 1.5 oz more (guy said it was some older stuff and it sounded like it had the pellets)
KenD
IMHO, your best bet is to go to the dealer and just pick up the tabs. They are the same price as the bar's leak and you never have to wonder if you've actually plugged up the heater core using the improper bar's leak. Thanks to Guru for setting me straight on this a couple of months ago. 1994 STS Pearl White 260,000 KM (163,000 miles) <img src="http://img45.photobucket.com/albums/v137/caesar/caddycaesar.jpg" border="0" class="linked-sig-image" />
cpk
GM's part number on the supplement tabs appears to be 3634621. $2.27/each at gmpartsdirect, but they want you to buy 24 packs. P&G Chevrolet sells them for $2.61 and appears to do so individually (http://www.partszoneonline.com/) GM List is about $4, it appears from the sites. Or, someone has an ebay auction for them... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2470488082

msilva954
May be off topic, but its funny how when I recieved the car the other day I thought that the coolant had never been changed. I ended up draining it and refilling it, looked great then I put in the BarsLeak. And TADA old dirty coolant look again, I felt really stupid that day. STYES
I wouldn't put that dark liquid with pellets in a FORD! Use only "Bars Leaks radiator stop leak" or the pellets. If you can't find it, e-mail me, I'll send you some! If you can't get it in the lower hose, get it in the system some way! It is better to do so, than to not! Once a year, 1.5 ounces! JimD
Current BARS packaging looks like this: http://www.barsproducts.com/origin.html Look for HDC or G12BP; same product, different format. Bob*97 SLS
I believe the powder is gold in color. Not that the package says "gold'.
