The engine in the race car sits back and down as I recall also, giving it a much lower front fender line and aerodynamic advantage. I think this same trick helped to fit the supercharged NS under the slight hood bump on the STS-V. JimD Posted November 2, 2006 Author Report Share Posted November 2, 2006 Sources had to be quiet about the STS-V until the February, 2005, Road & Track published a review. Then he was able to share a few of the design details. And yes, the engine in the STS-V was dropped almost 2 inches "...for vehicle balance and packaging". Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone.
