ezed1 Posted November 1, 2006 Report Share Posted November 1, 2006 Hey guys can an early sign of a head gasket problem be a intermittent o2 sensor code comes i clear it a couple of days later or longer it comes back, it did this for about 2 years i thought it was the cat because i replaced the factory one with a high flow cat then one day it came up low on coolant nothing on the ground on leaks to be found one year later this car over heated and the rest was history blown HG 143,000 miles mostly highway plenty of WOT 99 seville sls Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Bruce Nunnally Posted November 1, 2006 Report Share Posted November 1, 2006 Normally it appears that a coolant leak can kill an o2 sensor, but this because of the silicates in coolant. Since dexcool contain no silicates, I would suppose it is less likely to kill a sensor even with a coolant leak?
