The Fred
(I remember this from when it ran right) When I jam down on the gas the tires spin.. only some times I think some kind of traction control light came on but the tires always spin when I jam down the gas MerryChristmas Be a Capitalist or work for one. Cadillac Jim
The traction control won't prevent all tire spin. What it will do is equalize torque applied to the wheels and, if it detects spin, retard the spark timing, apply light braking to one or more wheels, or turn off a cylinder or two to reduce tire spin and maximize traction. You may hear an electric motor run for a few seconds; it is under the hood on the driver's side just behind the front wheel. Very quick events won't cause a DIC message. If both wheels spin in synchronization, it is possible that the traction control won't detect the spin instantly. -- Click Here for CaddyInfo page on "How To" Read Your OBD Codes-- Click Here for my personal page to download my OBD code list as an Excel file, plus other Cadillac data -- See my CaddyInfo car blogs: 2011 CTS-V, 1997 ETC Yes, I was Jims_97_ETC before I changed cars.
