Texas Jim Posted August 4, 2012 Report Share Posted August 4, 2012 I have not personally did it to a 2008 STS... but on the DTS all you need to do is get the Onstar module from a 2010 or 2011... Would the dealer have to program the module or not? Like I said.. I have not done it to my car... I have just read about other people doing it. I "THINK" the only programming that has to be done is if you want OnStar... then it needs to be programmed to your car... usually about 50 to 100 bucks. I would probably look for one from a wrecked car... it would be a lot cheaper than buying a new one. I think one from a 2010 or 2011 Impala will also work. Here is a listing on ebay... seems kinda pricey to me...
