  1. U had old pump out and it worked. U assumed pump was ok but now u were unsure of what was wrong. So u put new pump in. So old pump and new pump were both ok? But car starts now with new pump.
  2. i am speaking about the 4t80e trans and no other. i dropped the pan and removed the drain plug and got almost 2 gals of trans fluid out. is draining most of the fluid any more severe than forcefully flushing the fluid out with a machine? flushing just means changing more of the fluid? it does not scour the internals of the trans. i do not follow the reasoning that flushing a high mileage trans loosens debris and causes issues.
  3. friend had small shop and had many cars. he had early 90's chevy truck with a non-turbo diesel? or maybe it had a turbo but no intercooler? than a month later it was gone and he got a newer version with a nice shiny aftermarket intercooler. if customer did not want to fix vehicle, they sometimes sold them to friend for little to nothing. he had a 94 sts with a blown headgasket. for 1 month. used to bug me about my sts. his was $50 or something like that.
  4. Coworker had a cutlass v6 diesel and a full size blazer diesel. I swear they started the car in gear and moved. Maybe 2 sec warmup period. 1985? Gas was around $1/gal and diesel was 50 cents?
  5. Is the 96 deville dash similar to the Seville? I like my smooth radio face area and know aftermarket installs usually look clunky. Not sure what deville console area looks like
  6. i assume he used a bottle of freon with the built in gauge. high tech stuff. its a 96 which is r-134a and uses threaded connections. pretty easy to hook up fill hose. just screw it on. system is pretty low if compressor won't turn on but guy added proper amount to blow ice cubes. so system is properly charged.
  7. 2 days ago you said the gauge was in the red, overfilled? now you say it was really too low? you got it working so i guess your happy. you could have system evac'd and properly filled so you know the right amount is in car but that costs money.
  8. has not set their status

  9. 96 STS 94k. flushed coolant at 4yrs ago when i got it and last summer too. its cheap.
