brando1956
I am replacing the calipers, rotors, and pads on my 96 Seville SLS, all 4 wheels. Rear adjuster mechanisms are seized and with 130K miles its time before I have seized calipers, etc. I turned wrenches before the ABS days, so I am familiar with the mechanical end but not the electronics. I have the mityvac brake bleeder tool and plan to vacuum bleed the calipers. I'm worried about brake bleeding because of the ABS. I don't want to do something wrong and trash the computer. Can I bleed this system as you would a standard brake system or does the ABS require special procedures? I read a post a while back that mentioned depressing the brake pedal after ignition shutoff to bleed the accumulator. Is there anyone out there who can advise me? Dan
Bleeding an ABS system is just like bleeding a normal system. You don't have anything to worry about. Remember to start at the wheel furthest from the master cylinder, the right rear one, and use DOT 3 brake fliuid
