Dan
Well if your eldo has the 4.9 motor, then you'll need a special puller to remove the pulley. Advance auto parts has one that is sold under the Ampro brand and they say it's for the Quad 4 motor, but it also works with the 4.9. It's part number T70074. Beyond that, its not a hard job to do. Just remember to bleed the system after you're done. You do that by jacking the front up and turning the wheels back and forth with the engine off. You should see bubbles in the fluid. Then turn the engine on and check the PS fluid level. Take a drive around the block. Check the fluid level again. You should be low. Top off and you're done. shanedaddyindacaddy
if the pump goes bad will this cause the no battery charge light to come on since the belt is connected to to the alternator
Lawrence
No, not as long as the belt is still there. What makes you think the PS pump is bad? Maybe is it is a noise you are hearing it is actually the altnernator gone bad.
shanedaddyindacaddy
the steering is getting tougher and the alternator was checked a month ago a was fine
Dan
Maybe the belt is slipping. Are you getting a squealing noise? If you are, then you probably need to check your belt tensioner.
