FlamingGoatBalls
Hello again guys. Another day another repair to ask about When I back out of my drive onto the street and begin to accelerate, as the wheels come back to the straight position there is a quick binding sound. I dont know much of anythingthing about steering but the car has done that since I have owned it. I am getting a little concerned however because lately I have been noticing a little bit of play in the steering wheel when im sitting at a stop and I wiggle it. How bout it guys? Am I looking at some sort of problem in the rack and pinion? That could be costly....
mikeal1892
What about trying to align it ? Michael -
FlamingGoatBalls
It was just aligned a little while ago. I put it up on a hoist today and took a look. Everything is as it should be....still thinking rack. Any way to know for sure?
JohnnyG
The play is not a good sign, but I've alway felt it best to evaluate cars with the engine off, someone looking underneath for movement, while someone else wiggles the steering wheel. How many miles on this one? It could be a tie rod end, or any number of other things that make up the front suspension and drive train. Never underestimate the amount of a persons greed.
