ken's caddy
On my '97 STS, I have radio interference noise that comes and goes. This noise sounds like the ignition, it changes pitch and tempo with the R.P.M. of the motor. Here is the strange part, I can get it to stop by using the power "lock" or "unlock" door switch. Any suggestions? Thanks Ken
davedog
have you tried cleaning the battery cables/posts ect? Don't know if this has anything to do with it or not..... loucar1
Check your plug wires for arcing. This will cause radio interference. Lou 94 Seville STS
Scotty
Let me venture a guess, so that I can earn one more toward getting rid of LURKER! lOl.... Sounds like a bad ground somewhere. I don't think the radio and door locks are on the same circuit, but they could be on the same fusible link circuit. Do you have a manual? I wonder if a bad circuit breaker (intermittant) could cause noise like that, which stops when you draw more current as it makes a better connection then. I might try to localize it by pulling CBs and fuses to see where it is coming from. Make sure the alternator connections are tight and clean. rjhat
Check your ant. cable. If the shielding is damaged or it is cut at some point, it could pick up engine noise.
