woody
All, What is the tell-tale sign you need to replace the struts. I know these are high dollar items form dealers. Has anyone used aftermarket replacements. I have 91000 on my 1997 STS and still have a great ride. Aftermarket Woody

JasonA
If the ride gets out of control, or if the struts are visibly leaking, they probably need replacing. I just turned 145,000 miles yesterday, on the original struts. Jason(2001 STS, White Diamond) "When you turn your car on...does it return the favor?" Every time I get into my STS, I think it feels GREAT! Iwould hate to loose that. I rented a new Deville recently for 7 days & 2,300 miles. To put it mildly, I was not impressed! Only reason I rented, was I didn't want to put 2k miles on my STS! I say, why degrade the ride and handling $50,000 car for realtively little money. When it does come time to change, consider active struts from GMPARTS, at half the dealer price. I have 96,000 miles and I still LOVE the ride/handling...
