FlamingGoatBalls
I thought that the parking brake was supposed to disengage when I put the car in drive. As is I have to reach down next to the pedal and manually release it. What gives?
Scotty
I am not sure if your's works with vacuum but if it does there is a tiny vacuum servo motor. The diaphram in that motor goes bad an no longer pulls the release. You can test this motor with a handheld vacuum pump and a length of hose. Hell you might even be able to test it with a short length of hose and creating a vacuum by sucking on it.... If there is no resistance with you suck the vacuum the diaphram is damaged. Here is a photo of the parking brake assembly from my 91. The vacuum motor is #7. Its pretty easy to replace if it is bad, I am not 100% sure that yours is identical but have a look at it Early on sailors navigated by the stars at night and the North star became the symbol for finding ones way home. Once you know where the Northstar is you can point your ship in the right direction to get home. So the star became a symbol for finding ones way home or more symbolically even finding ones path in life.
