doc
HOW DO I RESET CHECK OIL INDICATOR?
Scotty
You don't reset the check oil message, you reset the oil change message. Is your oil low? If not there is a sensor that screws into the pan or block that goes bad and needs replacing or the connector is off causing the light

Ranger
That light won't come on til the oil is 2 - 2 1/2 qts. low. I suspect a bad sensor.
STS Scott
I let mine get a little "too" low once, and it seemed to throw off the sensor, as It constantly told me to check the oil after that. A new oil level sensor fixed the problem. beegolden
On the same subject I ordered this sensor from gmparts and am waiting to install at the next oil change. My question is does the end of this sensor snap off this came with a large blue packing end also is there any special way to snap it off. Thank you
