Zefiro
I can't get my hood open. I don't need a permanent fix as I'm selling the vehicle for parts. There is no tension on the hood release handle either. Just would like to know how to release it manually? Thanks
JoeM
Often with mine, I pull the release under the steering wheel, however the hood does not pop up. I am able to lift on the grill, which will pop the hood enough, to reach under and release the latch. So maybe this is what yours is doing too. davedog
check and see if the cable has broken off of the release handle inside the cabin of your car. If so, and you can still see the cable, clamp some vise-grips on the end and pull, should the hood! We did this on one of our older vehichled for years....just left the vice grips there on the end of the cable.... I should also add, that when pulling the release additional times, that nothing happens/feels like I am pulling nothing.
chriskoc1
My hood latch cable broke off under the hood itself. I used to used needle nose pliers and go under the car near the grill. I had the cable hanging there so I just pulled on it.
