chriskoc1
It looks like I need a new AC compressor since the pulley is wobbling and groaning. No cold air when the AC is on. I tried to fill up the AC, but the system didn't want it. Are there any tips on this job?
Ranger
First off, the pully is on the clutch so maybe all you need is a new clutch. Secondly, if the system is low and set a DTC, the compressor will be disabled to protect it. You have to clear the code to enable the compressor. Otherwise you will not be able to charge the system. The thing is it set off the code about 3 months ago and it never came back. I checked everything today when I started to hear the compressor clutch spinning (today was the warmest day so far this year so I was able to get a good temp throught the vents).
