truant Posted February 21, 2007 Report Share Posted February 21, 2007 I think when using the puller it might be wise to leave the nut on the shaft until you're done breaking the static friction. That way you can take the nut off after you're done and not have to worry so much about possibly expanding the end of the shaft .. which would make it hard to put the nut back on when you're done. The shaft is a special steel, so any expansion should be minimal, but it has been known to happen. I know this takes 24hours to work sometimes.. but did you try PB-blaster on the splines to eat the rust? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
