OldCadTech
It will not complete a drive cycle with the codes set period. P0463 - The PCM senses a signal voltage higher than the normal operating range of the sensor - the MIL will not illuminate... diagnose fuel level sensor BEFORE evap codes !!!!! THERE IS ALWAYS ENOUGH TIME TO DO THE JOB RIGHT - THERE IS NEVER ENOUGH TIME TO DO THE JOB AGAIN !!!

John
Hi I will check the conection,is there a test I can do before removing the fuel pump? Also what type of connector spray would you recommend for spraying the pins on the connectors is there a recommendation from Cadillac? it's funny I've seen that error code, but it never turned on the check engine light.I just thought if it was emissions related that it would turn on the check engine light. Thanks for you help John I'm going to contact the garage that charge me $118.00!! and ask for my money back, it appears he didn't do a dam thing. John
Hi bodybyfisher No check engine light, have not had a CEL after replacing THE TCC solenoid. The EVAP shouldn't be a problem the state of California allows you to have a EVAP monitor not ready. Here is a description of the P0463 code for the fuel level sensor. Any good contact cleaner will work. The fuel pump and wiring on the 2004 should be accessible from the trunk through a removable panel. Visually inspect for corrosion at the connector. Does your fuel gauge act up? You can purchase the fuel level sensor separately. Rockauto sells the sensor for $36 to $116. http://www.obd-codes.com/p0463 Pre-1995 - DTC codes OBD1 >> 1996 and newer - DTC codes OBD2 >> https://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/gm/obd_codes.htm How to check for codes Caddyinfo How To Technical Archive >> http://www.caddyinfo.com/wordpress/cadillac-how-to-faq/ Cadillac History & Specifications Year by Year http://www.motorera.com/cadillac/index.htm
