Marika
If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans. Marika
Rick Schuhmann has been a faculty member at Penn State University since 1998 and is currently the Walter L. Robb Director of Engineering Leadership Development in the College of Engineering. Dr. Schuhmann holds faculty positions in Engineering Design, Science-Technology-and-Society (STS), and is a member of the graduate faculty in Civil and Environmental Engineering. My cousin is headed off to MIT this autumn to begin a teaching career at their school of engineering.
