I also have rims that leak and the salt makes them pit out on the inside, wash you vehicle at a spray wash that sprays under the care after all the salt bath we get in different areas this will help, but using a sealant like others have suggested helped mine and solves it temp. I have to re-seal every yr.

One question and a caution.

The question: Has anyone had any luck with "SLIME" tire sealant?

The caution: Were taught to never use steel wire brushes to clean aluminum. Stainless steel or bronze brushes were OK. The reason is that small particles will transfer from the brush and imbed into the wheel. The imbedded steel particles will rust and cause a corrosion problem of their own. That kind of corrosion will eventually ruin the aluminum part.

Slime is GARBAGE. DO NOT use it. First off it introduces and captivates moisture and will thus aid in corrosion. Secondly, it will sit in the bottom or may rotate somewhat, but will always be in the tread area and will never get to the bead. Thirdly, it may affect wheel balance.
