xyxuhy
Where is the fuel filter located and how easy are they to change? I have the engine light on and took it to the dealer. He said the it was giving a lean code. He said to change the air filters which I did and it came back on. I was thinking the fuel filter should be next?? Ranger
A lean code is usually caused by a vacuum leak, not a fuel filter. If the filter is clogged the engine will starve out at high fuel demands.
CCClarke
Though this is an old post, I'll answer the question for anyone who is wondering where the fuel filter is located. (It ain't pretty.) The XLR uses two saddle-style fuel tanks based on (and nearly identical to) the C5 corvette. The fuel filters are located within the tanks and are not serviceable in the normal sense of the word. The tanks need to be removed (a big job, requiring a lift) to gain access to the venture jet pumps w/attached fuel filters. CC
