In its last days it would engage and then stop and only if I hit the brake hard would I be able to engage again. The message still appears but no engagement. Ranger Posted October 20, 2004 Report Share Posted October 20, 2004 Hold your foot under the brake pedal and lift. Then set the cruise. If it works and holds, then drop your foot. If it disengages, the switch is out of adjustment as the pedal is now dropping away from the switch. You will just need to adjust the switch so that it is closer to the pedal bracket.
