woody
Hello Forum Members, Looks it's time to replace the water pump. I heard there is a special tool needed to unlock the pump from the housing. Is this true? where would I get one? Picture of one. Ore is there any other way to tackle this/ Thanks, Woody
airmike
here is a picture of the tool. I rented it at oreily's and then if you want to keep it you can. If you return it you get your money back
Ranger
There is no other way to tackle it.You must have the water pump socket. Keep in mind that it is cam locked, not threaded, so it only takes about 1/8 turn clockwise to disengage it.
woody
Thanks All, The price to rent one here in Mich. was just as much to buy, so I bought one. Thanks for the help. Woody
Ranger
The rental price is the cost of the tool and is refundable upon return. That said, never turn down the opportunity to buy a new tool.
