caseykallhoff
I have a 95 concours and will not shift in to overdrive and if dose it will slow the car down real fast or just go into neutral, if you pull it into 3rd it will kick back in gear and drive fine. I just pulled the pan and found a small piece of gasket and a check ball was sitting in the bottom of the pan? Is this my problem? where did it come from and how to fix? Need help Casey PS: no codes in system
Ranger
Not sure where it came from or how it could have gotten there, but the valve body has something like 6 or 9 check balls in it.

Ranger
I have never had to replace the shift solenoids, which are inside the valve body so I can't speak from experience, but I also can't think of anywhere else they could have come from. If you do pull it, better have a FSM so you know where they go or a diagram. I seem to recall one posted here a long time ago. Also beware when you separate the valve body, they are spring loaded. caseykallhoff
Decided not to pull valve body and cleaned pan and replaced filters, filled and now seems to be driving good. Ill keep my fingers crossed.
