Ranger
Sounds like you have air in the system. Does your heater blow hot air? Check the purge line to be sure it is clear and flows coolant. If that is OK, test the coolant or have it tested for exhaust gases.

Ranger
The purge line purges air out of the system. It is the 3/8" line that runs from the water pump to the side of the surge tank near the top. Pull the line and hold it in the tank to avoid a mess. It should spit coolant. If not locate and clear the clog.
