Uffe6y Posted June 15, 2004 Report Share Posted June 15, 2004 Is there any way to get some extra power from the 4.9 litres sts-92...changing airfilter and open up the exhaustsystem is one thing,,,but is there any other way?...does it exist anh chip that is worth the money? It has a conventional distributor. The Northstar is distributorless, and the timing is not easily adjustable. No, you don't have to use premium in your Northstar. Many here run 87 octane with no spark knock and no problems. If yours doesn't ping on a lower grade fuel, it's money saved.
