simplyrob
I have a strange issue with the A/C blowing through the vents. First let me state that the air always blows cold, so that is not the problem. It does seem that intermittently upon acceleration that the system gets confused or stuck with the direction of the air flow, like it's not sure if the air should come through the front, top or bottom vents. when it does this it make a strange noise which is hard to desribe. It's like some sort of baffle or air flow director is partially stuck. Any ideas?
Ranger
Your system is vacuum controlled and defrost is the default mode. When you accelerate vacuum drops and the system defaults to defrost. I'd check the vacuum reservoir. Locate the cabin vacuum supply line where it enters the cabin on the passenger side firewall and follow it back to the reservoir.
