Paul_tunney@hotmail.com Posted May 8, 2009 Report Share Posted May 8, 2009 Hi all i am thinking of installing a second battery in my trunk do to all my electronics. my question is if i do so will i need to do anything to the alternator or charging sytem to the car? also i just puchased a navigation system for my car and it has a speed sensor wire that will hoook into the cars electroinic system and give me info on the nav screen i am undecided if i will hook this portion up when install the unit. if i were in hook it up were would this wire go in the car? all it says on it is speed sensor. thanks in advance Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
corkyd Posted May 8, 2009 Report Share Posted May 8, 2009 check the amp rating on the alternator.. it is usually stamped on the alt. frame. then check a parts house to see if they have a higher rated one available.. with the same pulley size.. some GM's have higer rated alternators, but the pulleys are a different size... requiring you to change belts to match..
