Shock bushings

I've been looking for some rear shock bushings but no one, and I mean NO ONE, seems to have these as a separate item. You have to buy the shocks to get the bushings. I've tried some garages and GM and the local auto parts stores and they are not a separate packaged item.

Does anyone know where I can purchase these. I am missing the bushing from my rear drivers side shock and the other side could probably use a new one also. The shocks are still okay so there's no reason for me to go and pick up a new set just because I need some bushings.

Try Midas. They probably have a garbage can full of them that you can scrounge through. You can probably find some used ones in good condition for free. Other than that, maybe contact Monroe or some other shock maker and see if you can purchase some from them.

Thanks for the response Larry.

Actually, I'm going to try and match the original bushing by purchasing some polyurethane roll/tube and just cut off what I need and then drill a hole in the centre. This, in theory, should work just as well and probably last longer than the rubber.
