Marika
The Odometer had a birthday yesterday. It was 157 years old. If you really want to make people safe drivers again then simply remove all the safety features from cars. No more seat belts, ABS brakes, traction control, air bags or stability control. No more anything. You'll see how quickly people will slow down and once again learn to drive like "normal" humans.
TDK
Just wondering, did you ever hear of stopping the car and all passemgers doing a "Chinese Fire Drill" around it three times for good luck at 100, 1,000, 10,000 and 100,000-miles for good luck. Seemed to work for everyone in my family. I remembering buying my brother's '68 Caprice with 137,000 (which he thought was just broke-in) and drove it well past 200,000 or so. Please forgive any politically-incorrectness... Add power to leave problems behind. Most braking is just - poor planning.
