rickrobles@gmail.com
I cannot find anything about setting a new idle control motor in a 1992 Deville. I drove it around the block and it felt like my cruise control was engaged. The instructions speak of a setting procedure I appreciate the help. Ranger
Press on the plunger and it should retract. When it bottoms out, pull the plug. Now adjust it to a .060 gap between it and the throttle lever and plug it back in. There is an "idle learn" procedure after instalation, but it will relearn on it's own in a day or two. rickrobles@gmail.com
Is the gas consumption supposed to up during this learning period as well? I was averaging 21.4 miles a gallon and now my fuel center is reading 9.0 miles a gallon. Is this typical? Thanks! Press on the plunger and it should retract. When it bottoms out, pull the plug. Now adjust it to a .060 gap between it and the throttle lever and plug it back in. There is an "idle learn" procedure after instalation, but it will relearn on it's own in a day or two. Ranger
No. You have other factors at work here. Check for a leaky FPR for starters.
