Willie Hank
The typical approach is the process of elimination. The first thing would be to fully charge the battery and have it tested to see if it can withstand a full load. The next thing would be to have a shop check and see if the alternator is putting out rated amperage. I'm not sure, but the alternator proabably has an integral voltage regulator, that could be checked, as well. If all these things check out, then the next and worst problem could be a drain on your electrical system, the challenge being, trying to isolate and find it. lacseville
on your way to work or sompthin, stop in autozone or orileys and they will go out and clamp a tester on your battery. they can tell you if your battery will hold a charge somehow.... Dan
The easist way to check if your alternator is charging or not is to check your voltage on the dic before you start the car, and then check it again after you start the car. If the voltage is the same both before and after, then you have a bad alternator. You should get about 11v-12v befor you start the car and about 13v-14v after you start the car. You should not be exceeding 15v or you'll destroy the battery.
