Thanks Y'all

Recommended Posts

I just finished repairing my 2000 SLS with bad wheel hub bearings. I read through the posts trying to figure out what the noise was coming from the front end. (Rather difficult to tell) I first thought it was the transmission and after reading all the info posted decided to try and replace the hub. I replaced the driver side first thinking that when you turn an S to the right it went away. Well it was'nt the driver side, so decided to change the passenger side before taking it to the shop. Lo and behold the noise is gone. So to all you mechanics and backyarders that know what you are talking about. Thanks a lot!!!

When you turn right, you load the left bearing and unload the right. Thus when it gets quieter on a right turn and louder on a left, it is the right bearing that is ailing.
