morgan
The antenna on my ’97 STS quit working. The motor was running but no up & down. I removed it and then took it apart and discovered the white plastic wire broke. I ran off the local dealership and purchased the replacement which came with a new antenna too. I put it all back together and now when it goes down it leaves about a foot of the antenna out and shuts off. Any suggestions as to why? I took it apart and it seems be winding up ok. It simply stops. Is the switch inside shot?
Ranger
The problem is that you did not synchronize the gears properly when you installed it. When I did mine ('97 Deville) the kit came with a set of instructions copied right out of the FSM. If you have instructions with it, reread them and start over. If not, you'll need a FSM or someone who does that can copy and post the page.
