Logan
Saw the post from cadiwumpas about the slinging belt. Thought I would share tonights project.. Long overdue timing belt replacement 2003 Saturn VUE 3.0L V6. Same engine is used in the Catera. Gotta get this job done!...I would cringe everytime I would hear that engine start...126K miles on the original belt. We rent the J-42069 tool kits. I'm the last guy to actually do the job. I just happened to have a couple of the rental kits sitting here now. Very warm here today in Nashville, tied record of 71 degrees, I'm going in! Job took about 4 1/2 hours being careful, easier then I expected. Much easier then the Deville trans sensor drop a year ago! Only 1 problem, I have access to the GM online service manual. The 2003 Saturn diagram for the adjustment tensioner did not match mine. Note: Our Saturn is a very early 2003. Hmmm..so I went and looked up 2001 Catera. There it is..the same looking tensioner with the correct tensioner adjustment information. Job done!
