Harmonic balancer

Hello. I have just replaced the harmonic balancer on my 2003 STS. Bolt was unbelievably hard to get off but finally accomplished it. My manual says to tighten the harmonic balancer bolt to 37 ft lbs and then another 120 degrees. Is the 37 ft lbs correct. It sounds very light to me. I would have thought perhaps 90 ft lbs and then 120 degrees. Anyone out there help me with this. Thanks

FWIW FSM for 2000 seville calls for 37 ft lbs plus 150 degrees.

Thanks Eric for the reply. It just seems that it was a lot harder to get off so I figured it was put on with more torque. Unless I hear differently, I'll torque it to those specs. Thanks again.

. I don't have the flywheel lock and I don't see one on Ebay so I may take it into a dealership and have them torque it to spec. Thanks for your responses

If the balancer bolt is not torqued to the proper spec., the oil pump will not operate. Do not be surprised is you get the "Stop Engine - No Low Oil Pressure" message.
