wfpd39
All of the pads were replaced, but I still get this message (1999 STS). Does anyone know how to clear it? Debi
JimD
One or more of the brake pad sensors are worn to the "open" condition, or not connected properly. Double check each location. If the message was displayed before the pads were changed, you definately have one or more sensors worn through. It is possible to defeat the message permanently, but that would leave you without the early warning radar. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE ! bigjayzway
Ask your mechanic, which pad was the lowest? This is probably where the "done" sensor is. Big Jay Life is too short to grow up!
OynxSTS
And if you chose aftermarket replacement pads make sure they are complete with the sensors... Some are... most aren't! OE pads are no worry because they come complete. I've been told that buying just the sensors is expensive and a royal pain.
