rbrantlee
C1242-Pump Motor Ground Circuit Open U1016-Loss of Communication with PCM If you look straight down between your engine and the air filter box, directly under the upper radiator hose, you will see a kind of square, black box. This is the EBTCM/BPMV. Electronic Brake and Traction Control Module and Brake Pressure Modulator Valve. You have a ground problem somewhere. If you look to the left of the box looking down, you will see a black ground wire. See if it is loose. You may have to check the connector(s) to the EBTCM/BPMV also. It could be this simple or more complex. I have had no experience with this module. Check the connections, clear the codes, drive it and see if you still have the codes and message. Try doing a search on this forum using relevant key words. Hopefully someone who has experienced this problem will chime in. Good luck.
yhman
Have you replaced your water pump, belt or tentioner? if you did so, check for the ground cable that was supposed to be connected to one of the studs of water pump belt guard. Return it to position and report back.
