STYES Posted January 12, 2005 Report Share Posted January 12, 2005 It is probably the steering shaft in the column. Not anything to worry about, it will never come back to haunt you. I just posted a response to a similar query. It is the lubrication of the shaft itself. I've seen many steering wheels exibit "smoke" because the shaft was over lubricated to fix this problem. You would have to "maintain" the shaft with proper lubrication to eliminate the clicking and reduce the smoke. Doing nothing will not hurt it, but you will find that click to be there. acklac7 Posted January 12, 2005 Report Share Posted January 12, 2005 I belive I have the same problem tekfx, and I've had it for years...It doesn't get worse and it doesn't get better, just that click/knot.
