FSchuett
Hello, I have a problem with my ´95 Eldorado: If my car stop and I move the shift lever back into PARK, the passenger door will not open. If I press the drivers door lock the passenger door will not open. If I press the passenger door look all doors will be open. Now, the automatic door lock just close all doors correct, but not open the passender door... WHY ??? Thank you Frank
Dasher
Well, probably somebody with an Eldorado should answer you; but I'll tell you how my STS works: 1. Putting the car in Park unlocks all 4 doors. 2. Pressing the driver door button will unlock all doors. 3. Pressing the passenger door button will unlock all doors. If yours doesn't work this way, then I would guess it must be a problem with the wiring. If the passenger door motor weren't working, it wouldn't work when you press the passenger door button either. Somebody with an Eldo will follow up on this and tell you how his works, I'm sure.
an01sts
Let me boil this down. You cannot unlock the passenger door from the driver's side, but you can unlock both doors from the passenger side--correct? I hate to send you on a hit-or-miss mission, but I would guess that the master switch (driver's side) is bad. We had known good switches that we used for test switches because it was quicker to test with a known good switch, than even begin to dink with testing wires. One test that is a freebe is to take disconnect the swtich and reinstall it. It might have a bad connection. If it's not the switch or the freebe test, it's an issue with the wires.
