jhall
Hi all, Getting ready to pull the engine / transmission from my '97 Deville for a rebuild. Ordered the Helms manual for reassembly, but ready to go ahead and rent the hoist to pull it out. The question is - what points are best for lifting the engine/transmission? I see the lift bracket at the firewall near #7 cylinder (driver's side). Looks like the bolts at the top of the transmission / engine location would be another possible bracket location, but no clear points at the front of the engine (passenger side). I have hoist brackets that will bolt on as need, but need to know the best points for lifting so I don't damage anything. Do I need to pull the valve covers and use the head bolts as lift points? (hope not!!)
