Hud
Is it possible to disable the trunk button on the remote keyless transmitter? Several times, the trunk has opened when the button pressed against something in my pocket. Thanks.
JimD
If your remote is a four button design similar to mine, the answer is yes. Open the remote as if you were going to change the battery and then also gently push on all four buttons and the PC board should come loose from the case. Lift the PC board off the molded rubber piece. Cut a small piece of light cardboard to the shape of the trunk symbol (oval on mine). Assemble the remote with the cardboard (insulator) in place between the carbon part of the trunk button and the trunk traces on the PC board. Done. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. Flyer
why not just use electrical tape as the insulator? --Flyer '99 'Vert 'Vette 45k '97 SLS 55k Deceased: <'68 Mustang 200+k>, <'86 GMC S-10 180+k>, <'86 VW GTI 180+k>, <'86 Seville 195+k>, <'93 Seville 175+k>
JimD
Indeed. But if / when you elect to undo the modification, you could be facing a glue cleanup job also. Jim Drive your car. Use your cell phone. CHOOSE ONE !
