edelen Posted December 7, 2011 Report Share Posted December 7, 2011 i have 2 04 cts 3.6 with the 5l40e 5 speed automatic transmission, sometimes when they sit over night or for longer periods they want to slip or not pull right away when you put them in drive, seems to be worse when it is colder at night (20-30 degrees) most of the time it works fine when you first put in gear, but when it slips it will not pull for 10 seconds or so, but after that it works flawlessly, i know the fluid is full it is a bear to check, but what type of fluid does it use book says dextron 3, but some people say dextron VI or is there a additive for it.
