93 STS radio problem

I just bought a 93 sts and the only problem it has is the radio. When I turn the volume up it starts to make a booming sound kind of like a blown speaker but it comes from every speaker. If I turn the volume way down you can hear the radio and it sounds fine but only at very very low volume. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
